History of SHWS
From a chance discussion among a few friends about the love of watercolor art and the lessons two ladies had taken, this organization was founded February 15, 2005 to improve the painting skills of its members and to stimulate public interest in watercolor art through exhibits.
Instructors from various states such as Texas, Colorado, and California have come to Star Harbor to give lessons to the group.
The SHWS has grown from its original five members to almost thirty members.
Through the years, many of our members have shown their artwork in various exhibitions and/or won numerous awards in art shows all over Texas.
The founding members on February 15, 2005 were:
President – Norma Fitzwater
2nd Vice President – Viola Perdue – Monthly meetings
Secretary – Selwyn Wilson
Treasurer – Ann Moye
